Crypto Payments Explained: How Buyers Pay and Sellers Earn

Fanerse uses cryptocurrency payments for Link Pack sales and user-created Marketplace listings. If you're new to crypto or unsure how the payment flow works, this guide covers everything you need to know — from the buyer's perspective and the seller's perspective.

Why Crypto?

Three practical reasons drive the choice of cryptocurrency over traditional payment processors:

No chargebacks. Traditional payment processors allow buyers to dispute charges and reverse payments. This is a significant problem for digital content sellers — you deliver the content, the buyer consumes it, then disputes the charge and gets their money back. Crypto payments are final. Once confirmed on the blockchain, there's no reversal mechanism.

No content restrictions. Payment processors like Stripe and PayPal have content policies that restrict what types of content can be sold. These policies can change without notice, potentially cutting off revenue overnight. Crypto operates independently of these gatekeepers.

Global access. Crypto works everywhere, regardless of the buyer's country, banking situation, or local payment infrastructure. A buyer in any country can pay with the same currencies and process.

For Buyers: How to Purchase

When you find a Link Pack or Marketplace listing you want to purchase, the checkout process is straightforward:

  1. Enter your email. This is where your access link will be sent.
  2. Choose your currency. Pick from 40+ supported cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin (BTC), USDT (TRC-20 or ERC-20), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin, and many others. USDT on TRC-20 is the most popular choice due to low transaction fees.
  3. Send payment. You'll see a payment address and QR code. Send the exact amount shown. The page automatically detects incoming payment.
  4. Get access. Once the payment confirms on the blockchain, you receive instant access to the content at a unique URL, plus a confirmation email with the access link.

Payment confirmation times vary by currency. USDT on TRC-20 typically confirms in 1-3 minutes. Bitcoin can take 10-30 minutes depending on network congestion. The checkout page shows live status updates while you wait.

For Sellers: Getting Paid

Setting Up Your Wallet

Before publishing your first Link Pack, you need to configure your payout wallet in the seller settings. This is the wallet address where your earnings will accumulate.

Recommended wallets: Trust Wallet, MetaMask (for ERC-20 tokens), or any wallet that supports your preferred cryptocurrency. Choose USDT (TRC-20) as your payout currency if you want to avoid crypto price volatility — USDT is a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar.

Revenue Split

For Link Pack sales, you keep 80% and the platform takes 20%. For Marketplace sales, the split varies by tier: Creator keeps 70%, Studio keeps 75%, Empire keeps 80%.

Tracking Earnings

Your seller dashboard shows real-time revenue tracking per pack, per buyer, and total. You can see every transaction including the buyer's email, payment amount, currency used, and timestamp.

Security

The payment infrastructure uses NOWPayments as the processing layer. Payments are processed through secure, audited smart contracts. Seller wallet addresses are stored encrypted and only used for payout processing.

For Link Pack buyers, content access is additionally protected by IP-locked security — the first device to access the content locks it. Any new device attempting access requires email verification, preventing casual link sharing.

Common Questions

Do I need to own crypto to sell? No. You only need a wallet address to receive payments. Earnings accumulate in your chosen cryptocurrency.

Can I convert crypto to regular money? Yes. Any major exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken) lets you sell crypto for fiat currency and withdraw to your bank account.

What if a buyer sends the wrong amount? The payment system handles partial payments and overpayments automatically. Underpayments may result in the transaction not completing.

Are there minimum payouts? There's no minimum — every confirmed sale is immediately reflected in your earnings dashboard.
